Jon Crispin is a photographer and visual artist based in Ithaca, New York. He is known for his unique project called "Willard Suitcases," which involved photographing the personal belongings of patients from the Willard Psychiatric Center in upstate New York. The center closed in 1995, and Crispin gained access to the suitcases left behind by former patients, offering a glimpse into their lives and struggles.
Crispin's work has been exhibited internationally and has been featured in numerous publications. He also teaches photography at Cornell University and runs workshops and lectures on photographic techniques and processes. In addition to his Willard Suitcases project, Crispin's photography often explores themes of memory, identity, and the passage of time.
